The best Braces and Invisalign® in Frisco, TX

What are braces?

Braces are orthopedic medical/ dental devices that are adhered to the teeth to help correct alignment issues and improve oral health.

Braces can treat almost any ortho concern, including:

Crowdingcrowding is typically due to teeth being too large, a jaw being too small, and losing baby teeth early.

Overbite – is when teeth are misaligned and not in a good place. It is when upper front teeth stick out or protrude beyond the lower front teeth.

Underbite/Crossbite – underbites and crossbites are different types of malocclusion or bite disorders due to the alignment of teeth and jaw.

Gaps or Spacing– any gap or space between two teeth. It is more common between the upper front teeth.

What is Invisalign®?

Invisalign® is an alternative to traditional braces. The treatment is made up of a set of clear aligners that Dr. Do-deLatour custom creates for you. It’s aimed at moving your teeth in a very specific direction to treat:

Crowding – crowding is typically an issue due to teeth being too large, a jaw being too small, and losing baby teeth early.

Overbite – is when teeth are misaligned.

Crooked teeth – teeth that are not straight. Tooth crowding, jaw shape, overbites, jaw size, underbites, too many teeth, and poor tooth development can contribute to crooked teeth.

Openbite – An open bite is when the bottom and top teeth do not come together correctly.

Misaligned teeth – The abnormal alignment of the upper and lower teeth.

About our Orthodontist Dr. Do-deLatour!Dr. Do-deLatour Orthodontist

Why does she love to work with patients to give them their dream smile?

I have seen patients start out being shy before the start of treatment, not feeling comfortable with the appearance of their teeth. At the end of treatment, so much changes. When we take off their Braces or they no longer need Invisalign Aligners, suddenly they get a boost to their confidence. Doors of opportunities open up for them to achieve success because they feel more confident in themselves and how they represent themselves.

What is Dr. Do-deLatour educational background?

My formal education journey began at Texas Christian University where I earned my Bachelor of Science degree in Chemistry. Afterward, I attended dental school at Boston Goldman School of Dentistry, receiving my Doctorate of Dental Medicine at the top of her class. I served in the Air Force as a general dental officer for three years after dental school. There I received an Advanced Education in General Dentistry certification, which has helped me to be more knowledgeable about comprehensive dental care. Orthodontics proved to be the most interesting subject to me because it is the perfect combination of art and science.

Following my military service, I spent three years at West Virginia University School of Dentistry to be specially trained in Orthodontics and attain my Masters of Science degree.

Dr. Do-deLatour is the top orthodontist in the community. She has been practicing for 18 years and has treated 8000 patients. Her approach is so caring of people of all ages, she is up to date with the newest technology and has techniques to help minimize any discomfort. Her goal is to straighten your teeth so everyone can have their best smiles.

Frequently Asked Questions

Who would be a good fit for Orthodontics treatment?

Every patient is different. We can treat adults, teens, and kids, and sometimes provide services for the whole family! When it comes to our treatments for children, at our practice we like to book an appointment for a consultation with one of our team. We want to meet with your child, teen, or adult to assess what your treatment options are, go over any information you may need, and that way you can meet with our orthodontists to feel more comfortable after your visit. If you are feeling uncomfortable in the beginning, parents can be with their children. Everyone’s needs are different so our treatment plan will be catered to you, your smile, lifestyle, concerns, comfort, and budget. If you have any problems, our doctors will be there for you every step of the way. If you have any questions, feel free to bring them to your consultation so we can make sure we address them all.

What can our Orthodontia Treatments Entail?

Each patient will be assessed by the dentist for the best treatment and orthodontic appliances option for them, but the following can be included in that treatment (not necessarily at the same time).

  • Metal/Metal brackets
  • Wires
  • Metal braces
  • Rubber bands
  • Retainers

What do you suggest for us to do after treatment?

We suggest that x-rays and imaging be updated. The good news is that there should be no issues once the treatment is over. We will just suggest that you set some goals as far as your cleaning routine making sure you brush and floss. We will also chat about whether retainers would be good to have after, continuing to straighten your teeth. Some people do not need retainers and others do not.

Are there procedures we do not provide?

We do not do the following:

  • We cannot crown teeth/crowns
  • Dentures
  • Dental Implants/Implant
  • Fillings/Filling
  • Procedure
  • Root Canal

What is the ITero Digital Practice Teeth Simulator?

  • Takes only 5 minutes.
  • Able to see a simulation of what your teeth will look like at the end of treatment.
  • No uncomfortable impressions.
  • No radiations.
